Who we are..... As university trained professional social workers we persevere to assist patients and families whose lives have been affected by Chronic Kidney Disease. Professional intervention focuses on adjustment and adaptation to the disease while dealing with accompanying psychological and emotional implications. We strive to provide excellence in counseling, education, research and advocacy ultimately respecting the individuals with Chronic Kidney Disease and those family members all trying to cope with diagnosis, stages of this chronic illness, treatment modalities and associated emotional trauma. Patients often react with disbelief, confusion, numbness, anger and apathy. |
